Medical Office Building Expansion

The celebrations continue at St. Joe with the grand opening of the new medical office building Sept. 17.

Construction of the $7 million, 29,000-square-foot MOB took nearly a year to complete. The project also included renovation of the existing 36,000-square-foot MOB and the transformation of the old and new structures into one cohesive space.

Fort Wayne Medical Education Program is the main tenant of the new MOB, occupying most of the three-story facility. FWMEP oversees 31 family practice and nine orthopaedic residents during training that lasts three to five years.

The organization’s Family Medicine Clinic sees 25,000 patients per year. The program also serves as the parent organization for Healthier Moms and Babies and the Allen County Employee Health Clinic.

In 2007, St. Joseph’s MOB initiative was recognized by the Downtown Improvement District as the most strategic project of the year.

St. Joe will use approximately 3,500 square feet of the ground floor to house a rehabilitation and wellness center.
