Treatment Services Offered
NIRI offers seven rehabilitation programs in physical and occupational therapy and speech and language pathology.

Neurological Program
The Neurological Program, which uses an interdisciplinary approach, is designed to restore strength, mobility, balance, endurance and function after illnesses such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson¹s Disease or injuries such as brain or spinal cord injuries.

Medical Rehabilitation Program
NIRI's Medical Rehabilitation Program offers specialized evaluation and treatment services to clients with conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, back and neck pain due to surgery, shoulder and hand disorders, and sports injuries. The program also services patients who have undergone total knee and/or hip replacement and who are recovering from burns.

Injured Workers Program
The therapists in the Occupational Rehabilitation Program work in collaboration with patients, their employers and case managers, and nurses and physicians to facilitate early returns to work. Work Hardening/Work Conditioning programs and functional capacity evaluations are also available.

Aquatic Therapy
Water offers an ideal environment for patients who have pain, muscle tightness, walking and/or coordination problems or who are challenged by exercising on land. Aquatic Therapy is particularly beneficial to patients with athletic or work injuries, neurological disorders or arthritis. Aquatic Therapy is also good for patients undergoing pre- and post-op rehab.

Pediatric Program
The Pediatric Program is designed to help children achieve their maximum rehabilitation potential through physical, occupational, speech and aquatic therapy in a bright, child-friendly environment staffed by compassionate therapists.

Return to Golf Program
This program, designed to get injured golfers back on the course, includes golf swing evaluations that examine soft tissue restrictions, joint range-of-motion and balance. Patients learn exercises that strengthen soft tissue, and a detailed exercise program is also available.

Women's Health Program
NIRI offers women¹s health services for patients at both the Dupont Road and St. Joseph Hospital sites. Therapists are available to treat women's issues such as urinary/fecal incontinence and pre- and postpartum pain.
