Adult Mental Health Services
Mental health treatment, just like other medical treatment, helps patients address issues that prevent them from functioning day-to-day. St. Joseph Behavioral Health offers psychiatric and substance abuse treatment programs. Inpatient, partial hospitalization and/or intensive outpatient programs are available for the following conditions:
- Suicidal or homicidal feelings/ thoughts
- Depression
- Anxiety/panic attacks
- Schizophrenia
- Phobias
- Chemical dependence and addictions
- Manic depressive disorder
- Hallucinations and delusional thinking
- Severe agitation and anger
- Traumatic events
Services include:
- 24-hour access to free, confidential assessments with a mental health expert
- Stabilization from life-threatening situations
- Detoxification from mood-altering drugs
- Medical evaluation to diagnose an underlying problem
- Individualized treatment plans and diagnosis education
- Medication evaluation and adjustment
- Group therapy, which enables patients to deal with issues that led to hospitalization while learning to relate to others in healthy ways
- Family therapy, education and support
- Discharge planning to assist in continuation of the healing process
