St. Joseph Hospital Begins Major OR Renovation with a Brick Wallbreaking (advisory)

WHAT: St. Joseph Hospital will signal the start of a 20,000-square-foot renovation of its surgical department by knocking down a section of an exterior wall on the hospital’s third floor.

WHEN: 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013

WHERE: St. Joseph Hospital, 700 Broadway
Exterior scaffolding has been erected on the north side of the hospital along Main Street.

WHO: Eric Looper, CEO, St. Joseph Hospital; Bethany Wall, administrative director of surgical and emergency services, St. Joseph Hospital

WHY: The new technology and space redesign will enhance efficiency and workflow. The temporary access on the third floor will allow construction workers a direct entry and exit point to the department as well as a convenient refuse disposal area for demolition throughout the project.

Media are asked to meet in the St. Joe lobby at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday to obtain safety gear and to receive instructions about scaling the scaffolding for the event. Please wear closed-toed shoes.
